How to Keep Your Home Safe from Mosquitoes

Monsoon season means a freshly bathed city with greenery everywhere. Along with these pleasantries comes one little nuisance; mosquitos. These pesky pests arrive even before the first rainfall and continue to thrive even after the season ends.

They tend to damp everyone’s excitedness and most importantly they carry deadly diseases like dengue fever, malaria, Zika, and other such diseases. It is crucial to get rid of them. And with dengue fever making rounds in the news, it has become a bit more urgent matter.

Besides that, it is more of a hassle if you are selling an apartment in Pakistan and that too in monsoon season. For then you will have to make sure the place is insect-free which is not that hard.

While the monsoon season is almost over, you still need some easy repellents to keep them away when selling a house in Pakistan.

Listed below are a few hacks to make it easier for you to get rid of them.

  • Keep them outside of the house:

Maintain fly screens on the windows or air conditioning to refrain mosquitos from slipping inside the house. Even if you don’t have screens, use a net over your bed or, if you have babies then, over their crib.

  • Eliminate stagnant water:

If you find standing water anywhere in the house then mop it immediately. This is because mosquitoes tend to reproduce very quickly with the help of water intake.

  • Keep door or porch lights dim:

Flashing or brightening lights in the doorway tend to invite in more mosquitoes inside the house. Hence, keep the lights off or at least dim them. Most preferably replace them with yellow lights.

  • Mosquitoes Hate Garlic:

As the Asian saying goes, garlic is an insect killer and a natural repellent. So use it in cooking meals or just eat it to keep him off biting you. Its odor is enough to drive it away from your house.

  • Use insect sprays and repellents around the home:

There are numerous natural scents that keep mosquitoes from home. Most common of them are Lavender, Rosemary, Sage, Peppermint, Citronella, and Cinnamon. Also, you can buy a mosquito spray or a coil.

  • Hire an expert:
